So, a journalist emailed me earlier this week with the following:
I’m a writer for TODAY.com, the website for NBC’s “Today” show, and I’m writing about “busy bragging” – the idea that we all feel so stressed and overwhelmed, all the time, but we also brag about this feeling! Slate had a great piece on this last week, and there is a new book out about this; the author of the book is slated to be on TODAY this week.
You were actually way ahead of this idea! I loved your post from last August on “busy-ness”.
To be honest, my post on bragging about being busy stemmed from a conversation with my friend Steph. Thanks, Steph.
Anyway, I answered a few questions the journalist asked. She used my quotes, like, “When I ‘busy brag’ now, it’s usually a passive-aggressive way of saying, ‘Hey, can you give me some kudos for all this effort I’m putting in?'”
Anyway, if you’re interested in the idea, here’s the article on the NBC Universal site.
That’s all. Happy Friday! I am going to watch ‘Venus in Fur’ this weekend. And… I’m busy, but no need to talk about that. 🙂
XO,
Elisa
